We are super excited to announce that Seattle’s Dreamdecay will be playing this year’s Ghost Throats. This is definitely one of the weirdest bands (and we mean that in a great way) we’ve ever had play the festival. Dreamdecay, and we couldn’t be more amped. Dreamdecay’s sound falls between hardcore and noise rock, with unexpected elements of shoegaze and post rock at times. Ghost Throats band #3, NEEDS! You know that time you Saw Fucked Up at Sled Island and Pink Eye smashed a pint glass on his head and proceeded to shred through the rest of the set bleeding all over anyone who dared get too close and you thought to yourself “THIS IS THE CRAZIEST BAND I’VE EVER SEEN”. Well, NEEDS is the band that was too crazy to play a Fucked Up show. If anyone remembers singer Sean Orr’s former band, Taxes, you know you’re in for a truly reckless set from a front man who has very little regard for his own well being.

Not to say NEEDS is all flash, because if you’ve listened to their Bart Records debut, The Accursed Share, you know these gents are no slouches. Blistering post hardcore influenced punk rock. Fast, frantic, and fun! This will be one for the record books. Do not miss!

Second announcement! We’re so excited to have Shahman back! These guys are so supportive of the fest and are one of the only bands we’ve ever asked that gave us a firm yes without hesitation (or thought)…just “Yeah we’re coming, we’ll figure out how later…we have to do this”

They absolutely KILLED it last year and have since become some of our best pals, so it was a total no brainer to ask them again. This band is important and if you don’t know them, you will soon!

We’re super excited to announce our first headliner…Greys!!
Seriously, within the first 5 minutes of meeting these guys a few years ago, we knew we had to get them at Ghost Throats someday. The nicest dudes playing amazing punk rock with just the right amount of mid 90s grunge haze added to it. Greys has been getting hype all over the net from places like Vice and Alternative Press…and unlike most hype bands, Greys deserves every single ounce of it. This is their third time back to Alberta and we’re super pumped they’re making their way out for Ghost Throats 2013!
